The FEF was pleased to award more than $13,000 toward grants in the 2010-2011 school year:

Environmental Club
: This club is for 5th and 6th graders.   There will be two ten week sessions held during the school year.  The club will be a project-based environmental program.  The goal of the club is to empower students to work together to make a positive impact on the environment and local community.  This club will assist students in working toward the school goal of creating a greener environment at Fredon Township Elementary School.


Freedom Fox News Club
:  There are two sessions of this club to accomodate grades 3-6.   The goal of this club is to assist the students, who are interested in the basics of video production in the following areas: working together as a production crew, storyboard writing, camera techniques, editing, reporting, and producing a short show if time allows.

School Newspaper Club
:  This club is for third through sixth graders.  It will meet in three sessions during the school year. The goal of this club is to teach students about teamwork and to help students gain confidence with writing.  The students will create a newspaper featuring columns that reflect an actual newspaper but will mainly focus on news at Fredon Township Elementary School!  Student's work will be published in monthly newspapers that will be distributed in Friday Folders.

Creative Writing Club
:  This club is for third through sixth graders.  It will meet in three sessions during the school year.  The goal of this club is to help students gain confidence with writing.  The club will focus on writing creatively in all genres.  Students work will be published in an annual journal that will be distributed during a Young Author's Conference held in May.

Drama Club
:  This club is for second through sixth graders. It will meet two days a week beginning in March.  The goal of the club is to  give students the opportunity to participate in a student musical as the culminating event to several weeks of practices, rehearsals, and drama skill development.  The club will give our students the opportunity to showcase the talents that many of them possess and their love of acting, singing and dancing.

Earth Dome:  The Earth Dome will be available for all students of Fredon Township Elementary School.  This is a gigantic inflatable earth balloon measuring 19 feet high and 22 feet in diameter. It is made up of 24 huge panels of silkscreened photographs of the Earth's surface that will be used to educate students about geography and environmental issues.  The Earth Dome will be at our school during a two day period of time.  This will allow all students of Fredon Township Elementary School to participate in a 30 minute lesson using the Earth Dome.
